FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Columbus, Ohio – May 12, 2025 – All Cops Ain’t Bad, Inc. (ACAB) is proud to announce a successful meeting with Chief Elaine Bryant of the Columbus Police Department. This possible partnership is particularly significant for Daryll Triplett, the founder of ACAB, as Columbus holds a special place in his heart.

Chief Elaine Bryant, with over 25 years of experience in law enforcement, has been a dedicated force in progressive policing, focusing on building stronger, more transparent relationships between the police and the community. As the first woman to serve as Chief of Police in Columbus, Chief Bryant has been an advocate for community-oriented policing and strengthening public trust.

“Daryll and I have spent much of our careers working toward the same goals—improving law enforcement and community relationships,” said Lisa Triplett, Chief Operating Officer of All Cops Ain’t Bad. “It was an honor to meet with Chief Bryant and discuss our shared values. We believe our partnership will foster meaningful change in Columbus.”

For Daryll Triplett, this meeting is personal. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Daryll has always felt deeply connected to the city. His journey in law enforcement began here, and the community’s well-being has been close to his heart ever since. “Columbus is where I learned the importance of service, both to the badge and to the people,” said Daryll. “This city has shaped who I am, and the possibility of working alongside Chief Bryant and the Columbus Police Department is a full-circle moment for me.”

Emergency Funds for Families in Need Program: A Lifeline for Families in Crisis

A major topic of discussion during the meeting was the Emergency Funds for Families in Need program, an initiative developed by All Cops Ain’t Bad to provide immediate financial assistance to individuals and families facing crises such as medical emergencies, housing instability, and victimization. This program is designed to help families who are in urgent need of support and unable to access traditional social safety nets in a timely manner.

Through partnerships with law enforcement agencies, the program ensures that aid reaches those in need quickly, with verified referrals from officers through a secure, encrypted mobile application. The app allows officers to submit emergency cases, which are then processed to provide financial assistance in the form of vouchers for food, transportation, temporary housing, and other essential services.

Funding the Emergency Fund Program

The Emergency Funds for Families in Need program is funded through a combination of public and private sources, ensuring long-term sustainability and equitable distribution across the country. The program’s funding model is designed to maintain both flexibility and accountability, ensuring that aid is provided promptly while maintaining transparency.

The key funding sources include:

  • Government Grants: Federal and state government funds that provide crucial backing for crisis relief programs.

  • Private & Corporate Donations: Contributions from individuals, businesses, and corporate partners who believe in supporting families in crisis.

  • Foundation Support: Partnerships with nonprofit foundations that are aligned with ACAB’s mission of bridging the gap between law enforcement and communities.

  • Comedy Show Ticket Sales: Proceeds from ACAB’s comedy events, which directly fund the program’s operational and assistance needs.

  • Gala Fundraisers: The Guardians’ Ball and other fundraising events that raise significant resources for the program.

  • Community Events: Events like pool tournaments, charity auctions, and local fundraisers organized by ACAB and its partners.

Each U.S. state is allocated $1 million annually for the program, broken down as follows:

  • $600,000 for direct assistance to families in crisis, including food, transportation, temporary housing, and more.

  • $400,000 for program administration, including the development and maintenance of the ACAB Emergency Fund App, staffing, and overhead costs.

Program Structure & App Features

The ACAB Emergency Fund App serves as the backbone of the program, facilitating the submission and management of emergency cases. It includes real-time GPS tracking for accurate case reporting and service delivery, ensuring that families receive assistance where and when it’s needed.

The app’s key features include:

  • Officer Verification: Only verified law enforcement officers can submit cases, ensuring the integrity and legitimacy of each request.

  • Emergency Case Submission: Officers can submit detailed cases directly through the app, including the nature of the emergency and the requested assistance.

  • Real-Time Tracking: Families receive real-time updates on the status of their case and the assistance being provided.

  • Fund Dashboard: A transparent view of available funds and how they are allocated.

  • Partner Directory: Access to a network of vetted service providers, such as Uber Eats, Hotels.com, and Lyft Business, who facilitate aid delivery.

The program is supported by strict security features to ensure the privacy and safety of both the families receiving help and the officers submitting cases. These include end-to-end encryption, biometric authentication, a triple-layered accounting system, real-time alerts for misuse, and a comprehensive audit trail.

A Vision for the Future

As All Cops Ain’t Bad continues to expand its reach, the collaboration with the Columbus Police Department is just the beginning. The potential for a long-term partnership between ACAB and Columbus Police offers the promise of a sustainable, impactful model for other cities across the nation.

“We are excited to build on this strong foundation and explore future opportunities to collaborate with law enforcement agencies around the country,” said Daryll Triplett. “By working together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
